Black Ebony Wood Description:

Origin: Black Ebony is a dense, tropical hardwood native to West Africa, Madagascar, and some parts of India and Sri Lanka.

Appearance: Deep, jet-black heartwood with a fine, uniform texture; sapwood is usually pale but clearly separated from the dark heartwood. Its dramatic black color makes it highly prized for luxury applications.

Natural Characteristics:
• Extremely dense, hard, and durable.
• Naturally stable, ideal for fine furniture, musical instruments, veneers, and turned objects.
• Machines well with sharp tools, though its hardness can dull cutting edges quickly.
• Straight to slightly interlocked grain; careful finishing is needed to avoid tear-out and to achieve a polished surface.
